Barb Thomas

Missionary

Hello, I am Barb Thomas, and I am currently preparing to serve as a missionary to the Texas-Mexico Border through CCCU and World Gospel Mission (WGM). In the 1980s and 1990s God called me to serve as a full-time missionary teacher at Christian Union Institute in Texas. I spent two terms as a single missionary there, and now I feel the Lord prompting me to return to that region.

I have called Cornerstone my home church since I was a young girl, and after my missionary terms I returned to Plain City to serve in various roles at Cornerstone, including as Missionary President and Treasurer, Second Elder, Sunday School teacher, Children’s Church leader, and VBS Director and teacher. Now I will be moving to Laredo, Texas, where I will use the skills and experience the Lord has blessed me with to teach English as a Second Language (ESL) classes, tutor junior and senior high school students, assist with job readiness, and facilitate ministries the local CCCU congregation (Iglesia Evangelica Unión Cristiana) develops within the community. I am passionate about reaching the unsaved, and only 17% of the population in Laredo identifies as Protestant. Our time to reach lost souls is short, and the harvest is great. I am thankful for God’s leading during this transition and for this new opportunity to minister in a community that means so much to me. I am also grateful for the continued support I receive from my church back in Ohio. For more information, please visit here.
